Free TCF Canada practice test: listening
10 listening questions from A2 to C1. As on test day, you hear each recording only once. The questions and recordings are in French, like the real test; the instructions and the explanations are in English.
About 12 minutes, including 9 minutes of recordings. Put on headphones or turn the sound up.
Original questions written for Répartie, in the format of the test. This short test gives an indication, not an official score. Répartie is not affiliated with France Éducation international; TCF is a trademark of France Éducation international.

This practice test keeps the rule that surprises candidates most: one listening only. To make practice easier, it shows the question before you listen; on test day, you only see it afterwards. Its questions go from A2 to C1, and there are only ten of them, so treat your result as a first signal, not a level.
How to get the most out of it
- Listen for the whole message. On test day the question comes after the recording, so follow who speaks, what they want and why, not a single detail. Once you are at ease, practise here without reading the question first.
- Do not take notes. France Éducation international advises against losing time on notes in the multiple-choice tests; keep your attention on the voice.
- Watch for the trap answer. In the harder questions of this practice test, a wrong option often repeats something that is said, but by the wrong person, or something the speaker then rejects.
- Read the review. Each option is explained, most often with the sentence that makes it right or wrong, and the full transcript is there to read after you listen.
